TAFE NSW’s Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP)

At TAFE NSW, our Disability Inclusion Action Plan (DIAP) commits us to a learning and work environment that values dignity, trust, respect, diversity and inclusion.

We have a specialised team of Disability Teacher Consultants to support students with their learning. You can connect with a Disability Teacher Consultant through our Disability Support Services by calling 131 601.

At TAFE NSW, our teachers and staff work together to help students with their studies. Our specialised Disability Teacher Consultants support students living with disability.

They do this by:

• identifying needed supports
• implementing individual learning plans
• making reasonable adjustments.

Our aim is to enable full participation, maximise learning opportunities and build confidence for every student.

TAFE NSW is committed to creating an environment that is accessible, inclusive and safe - physically, psychologically, culturally and socially.

We believe students and employees living with disability should choose their education or work paths with dignity and no unnecessary barriers.

Building on the Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2020-2022, the DIAP 2025-2029 aims to embed accessibility in all we do.

The DIAP focuses on four key areas:

• attitudes and behaviours
• liveable communities
• employment
• systems and processes.

Over the next 4 years, the plan will:

• shift attitudes by building knowledge and awareness about disability inclusion and access
• create safe, inclusive learning and workspaces where everyone belongs
• provide fair access to jobs through inclusive recruitment, workplace adjustments and training
• embed universal accessibility into systems and processes so they are safe, inclusive and easy to use.
