The exhibition also serves as a launchpad for the next generation of curators, with students from the Certificate IV in Arts and Cultural Administration (Galleries and Museums) responsible for managing and installing the show. The course, now based at the heritage-listed MUSE Gallery as of this year, offers students hands-on experience in exhibition curation within a real-world gallery setting.

It follows the NSW Government’s 10-year Creative Communities policy which aims to sustainably  grow the creative industries throughout NSW, enabling creative individuals, organisations and communities to reach their potential. The creative sector already represents 10% of the state’s economy and the policy aims to foster growth of the arts, culture and creative industries.

Team Leader for TAFE NSW Visual Arts and Culture Jasmine Robertson said it was exciting to launch the Arts and Cultural Administration (Galleries and Museums) course at TAFE NSW Ultimo.

“Delivering the course from the MUSE Gallery provides students with real-world skills within a gallery environment in the heart of Sydney City. With the growth in the creative and cultural arts in NSW, we know that our highly skilled students will continue to be in strong demand.

“The MUSE Gallery, build in 1893, holds a rich historical legacy and it’s fantastic to provide this space to inspire the next generation of creative professionals. We encourage people to attend the exhibition and discover our emerging talent. It’s been a wonderful team effort of graduate artists and student curators from across TAFE NSW.”

The 2025 TAFE Art Grad Show runs until April 3. The MUSE Gallery is open from 25 March to 3April 11:00am to 4:00pm at TAFE NSW Ultimo 651 Harris Street (Building C).
