Early Learning at TAFE NSW Children’s Centres

A toddler confidently perched on a slippery dip, smiling and preparing to glide down.

TAFE NSW welcomes families to take advantage of our on-site childcare services. This early childhood education and care service is available to students, staff and the public.

Our care standards follow the National Quality Framework and we’re licensed to care for children aged between 6 weeks and 6 years old.

Your child’s start in life is so important, that's why we choose educators who are passionate about childcare and encourage children to thrive. If that’s you, we want to hear from you! Learn more about joining our team of early childhood educators here.

    The best start in life

TAFE NSW has 15 inclusive Children's Centres across NSW. These centres provide long day care and a welcoming space for children’s learning and play.

    Our approach to early learning

All TAFE NSW Children’s Centres follow the National Early Years Learning Framework.

    This framework focuses on:

    • nurturing children's sense of self

    • developing their sense of belonging

    • encouraging ongoing development.

Our play-based learning programs are designed to spark children’s imagination in a positive environment where they are encouraged to play together.

    This enables children to:

    • build confidence

    • develop socialisation skills

    • express and explore their ideas

    • engage with the ideas of others.

Our programs also help prepare children to adapt to the school environment more easily.

    Our teams

TAFE NSW early childhood educators tailor practical teaching to meet the individual needs of the children in our care.

We value collaboration with families in the education process, and provide enriching and stable environments where children can thrive.

A group of four female childcare workers stand in a workspace. They all wear the TAFE NSW blue t-shirt uniform. One of the workers holds a folder while pointing out some notes to the others. They are relaxed and smiling.

    Our facilities

TAFE NSW’s Children’s Centres include communal spaces where children of all ages are encouraged to safely play together.

    Our facilities include:

    • babies' rooms
    • infant and toddler rooms
    • preschool rooms
    • outside play areas.

As children play together, they learn to socialise with one another, developing their confidence and empathy, as well as negotiation and social skills.

A toddler plays in a colourful outdoor play area, exploring a metal climbing frame with a big smile on their face. A TAFE NSW staff member supervises nearby, ensuring a safe environment.
