    About this international course

    This course is an introductory design course with a focus on Fashion Design. You will gain skills in illustration, colour theory, technical sketches, fashion design, CAD specific for fashion practice, as well as some basic fashion industry knowledge.

    It is also designed to give you the foundational knowledge to enable to you put together a portfolio of work for application for the Bachelor of Fashion Design or another higher level fashion qualification.

    Additional costs

    Additional costs for uniforms, equipment, textbooks and materials (if applicable) range from $300 - $1,000 AUD per course.

    Structure and units

    What you will study

    At the start of your course, you will receive your timetable. You will need to study all core units and a range of additional units.


    Packaging Rules Total number of units = 12 7 core units plus 5 elective units, of which: 3 must be from the electives listed below 2 may be from the remaining listed electives or any currently endorsed training package qualification or accredited course. Elective units must be relevant to the work environment and the qualification, Core Units CUAACD311 Produce drawings to communicate ideas CUADES201 Follow a design process CUADES302 Explore and apply the creative design process to 2D forms CUADES304 Source and apply design industry knowledge CUAPPR311 Produce creative work CUAWHS312 Apply work health and safety practices

    Core units are the required units that you must complete.

    You may gain entry to another university using your TAFE NSW qualifications. Acceptance and the amount of credit transfer may vary depending on the university and course studies. Check your credit eligibility.
