    About this international course

    The Advanced Diploma of Graphic Design deepens your visual communication skills and enables you to leave your creative mark on the world. Tailor your career to specialise in print media, advertising, corporate branding, digital design or illustration for commercial purposes.

    Learn to collaborate with your creative team to realise design projects, mastering each step in the design process from the initial brief to the final art.

    Graduates can use their new creative knowledge to build a career as a graphic designer, social media designer or content creator, or take the helm at a design business as a studio manager. If drawing and illustrating is your passion, you can focus on that speciality.

    Global industry demand

    The global market for interior, industrial, graphic and fashion design services is forecast to reach US$249.5 billion by 2022 at a compound annual growth rate of 13% from 2018 to 2022.

    Graphic design is the second most popular design skill sought by employers, after User Experience (UX). Labour shortages are occurring in tech design for smartphones, tablets and IoT (Internet of Things), as well as social media, marketing, print and brand identity work.

    Starting dates, course fees and locations

    Additional costs

    Additional costs for uniforms, equipment, textbooks and materials (if applicable) range from $300 - $1,000 AUD per course.

    Structure and units

    What you will study

    At the start of your course, you will receive your timetable. You will need to study all core units and a range of additional units.


    6 core units plus 9 elective units, of which:

How much credit you are eligible for varies depending on the course and university you choose. You can apply for a Student Visa that will cover the duration of your study.


    Other university pathways

    You may gain entry to another university using your TAFE NSW qualifications. Acceptance and the amount of credit transfer may vary depending on the university and course studies. Check your credit eligibility.
